Vanderview Farms was established in 1986. The home farm had long been a dairy farm for several generations of the Buck family. Will and Bernadette continued the dairy operation for another 34 years until March 2020. The dairy operation grew from 20 milking cows to 60 milking cows and the land base grew from 97 acres to 425 acres.

In the early 2000’s the family garden was expanded to include extra rows of sweet corn and what wasn’t consumed the Vanderhorst family was first sold out of a JD cart pulled behind the lawn mower. . Will and Bernadette’s five children Adam, Annika, Alexa, Ashley and Aiden were and continue to be a big catalyst for the growing roadside stand. Adam’s wife Diane and granddaughters Holly and Clara are a big support to the farm.

Will and Bernadette have long recognized the consumers interest in local food. Their roadside Farm Fresh market stand features Sweet Corn(yellow, white and peaches n cream) , Cucumbers, Raspberries, Zucchini, Potatoes, Tomatoes, Beets, Green and Yellow Beans, Onions, Swiss chard, Kale, Herbs (Dill, Cilantro, Basil, Thyme, Rosemary, Oregano, Parsley ), Squash ( Acorn, Butternut, Buttercup, Delicate) , sunflowers, zinnias , pumpkins, gourds, star bales, corn stalk bundles, local honey and local garlic.

In 2019 the Vanderhorsts added a corn trail and expanded on this in 2020 to do an 11 acre corn maze. The corn maze now has a Mini Maze and a Big Maze with trivia questions, corny jokes , photo opportunities and a family fun activity area .

Vanderview Farms has always used sustainable farming practices. Their farm was one of the first in the area to use No Till planting practices. This continues today withe crops of corn, soybeans, wheat ,fall rye and hay in addition to garden crops. The farm uses cover crops to protect the soil during the off season. The pumpkin crop is currently grown in crimped rye to avoid using herbicides for weed control.
